This overglaze enamel and graphite rendering of the Ore Dock in Marquette, Michigan will remind you of the soft colors at sunrise some mornings. Rendered from a photo I caught one morning it is set in copper that has a slight rainbow patina to it. The pin portion is visible and functional stainless steel with a glass blue drop bead the color of Lake Superior. It is wrapped in copper that is so rich in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The enamel has a sugar fire finish to the ore dock art. It is a one of a kind piece. The full height of the brooch is roughly 2-3/4″ high, the enameled art is a 1-1/2″ inch square.
